NIAGARA nutating disc flowmeters, available from , operate with liquid entering a precision-machined chamber containing a disc which nutates (wobbles).
The position of the disc divides the chamber into compartments containing an exact volume.
Liquid pressure drives the disc to wobble and a roller cam causes the nutating disc to make a complete cycle. The compartments are filled and emptied each cycle.

The movements of the disc are transmitted by a gear train to a register/totalizer or pulse transmitter. Close clearances between the disc and chamber ensure minimum leakage for accurate and repeatable measurement of each volume cycle.

The Niagara nutating disc flowmeters are very cost effective as they eliminate upstream and downstream piping requirements and no power is required for the mechanical versions.

The Model 3030 is a microprocessor based batch controller and flow rate indicator/totalizer that is capable of single or dual stage batch control. Two process parameters such as batch count and final batch quantity can be displayed simultaneously on the 16-character display. The Model 3030 has five control inputs, which when switched to ground, perform specific functions such as remote batch stop. Four open collector control outputs may be used to interface with remote devices such as relays, counters, and lights.

The Model 1030F is a microprocessor based flow rate indicator/totalizer with a 4-20 mA output that is proportional to flow rate and RS-485 communications. Flow rate and total can be displayed simultaneously on the 16-character display. The Model 1030F has five control inputs, which when switched to ground, perform specific functions such as resetting the totalizer. Four open collector control outputs may be used to interface with remote devices such as relays, counters, and lights.

Niagara Meters Positive Displacement Model 1005 Pulse to 4-20 mA Converter

The Model 1005 amplifies and conditions the contact closure or digital pulse signal from the Niagara flowmeters and converts it to a powered 4-20 mA output. The 4-20 mA signal is proportional to flow rate and can be used to interface with chart recorders, computers, or other instrumentation. The Model 1005 is factory calibrated with 4 mAs set at zero flow and 20 mAs set at the customer specified flow rate.
